1949年10月1日，北京30万群众齐集天安门广场，举行开国大典。中央人民政府主席毛泽东在天安门城楼上庄严宣告：中华人民共和国正式成立，中国人民从此站起来了。这标志着中国人民一百多年以来的反帝反封建斗争取得了伟大胜利。1999年是中华人民共和国成立50周年。
On October 1,1949,300,00 people gathered at Tian,anmen Square to celebrate the founding of the People's Republic of China(PRC).Chairman Mao Zedong announced solemnly from Tian'anmen Gate,“The People's Republic of China is now offically founded and the Chinese people have since stood up”.This marks the great victory of the anti--feudal and anti--imperialist struggle waged by the Chinese people  for more than ahundred years.The year 1999 is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the PRC.
